Vortex of Love
Vortex of Love is part of the series LIGHTWORKER which debuted in 2019 at Melanie Carr Gallery in Essex, CT. The series was an exploration in transforming grief and loss into something evocative and moving. Part of the paintings in the series were made entirely by using the heels of my feet as the paintbrush. The mark of the heel and the distinct heavy or soft action of it landing on the canvas produces something delicate yet powerful. I usually sit a lot when I paint with my heels. The healing/heeling ritual requires me to stop walking, remove distractions, and sit with my emotions. In this state of precision, concentration and flow, I am able to let go of negative feelings and appreciate the joyful aesthetic that blooms as seen in this mesmerizing and feminine painting. The size is 18x24inches on canvas and can be framed or unframed on your wall space.
